Parents from Chelmsford hope to raise awareness to stillbirth by writing their daughter's name on rocks that are placed by friends and family all around the world.

Lexi Peters and Sean Chamberlain lost their daughter, Hallie, in November 2023.

They created the Facebook page, "Hallie's rocks" in July in order to keep track of where their rocks have got to.

Mrs Peters said,

"We got the idea from the incredible Sands support group. We write Hallie's name on the front side of the rock and the facebook page on the back. Then we give them to friends and family, and anyone that has got in touch, to place on days out or on holidays. Using the facebook group we can see where the rock gets to. And hopefully they will then pass the rock on again.

"We've had some get to France and even Japan.

"The aim is to keep Hallie's memory alive and raise awareness to stillbirth, and how painful it can be, around the world.

Ms Peters and Mr Chamberlain said it has also been a great way to help their son, Alfie, connect with Hallie, as well as their friends and family who often find it a "taboo" to talk about.

""We never could have imagined how much he would have understood as he was just over two when it all happened," she said.

"We all got to spend some days with her after the stillbirth, so I think for him he knows Hallie and he loves the page and when rocks get found, he always says - 'Oh look, Hallie's rocks'. He's even placed some in locations, and decorated some himself."

So far, more than 20 rocks have made their way to places including Anglesey in North Wales, Dublin in Ireland and Suffolk and have gone global, reaching Center Parcs Le Bois aux Daims in France, and even Japan.

"We also plan on placing some rocks in a few locations which are significant to us in the coming months, like Orlando, Florida, which is me and my partner's favourite place and there was a song (Phil Collins' You'll Be In My Heart) which we played at Hallie's funeral which we associate with that place.

Ms Peters encourages people to get in contact with her or visit Hallie's Rocks on Facebook if they'd like to take part.
