Man charged with murder of Canadian woman in Chelmsford

He's been charged following the death earlier this week

A man's appeared in court charged with the murder of his 19 year-old Canadian girlfriend in Chelmsford.

Police were called to Tennyson Road shortly after 4pm on Tuesday 1st February to reports of a disturbance at an address.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, a woman sadly died at the scene.

Essex Police have provisionally identified he victim as Ashley Wadsworth from Vernon, British Columbia, Canada.

The couple originally met through an online dating app.

Jack Sepple who's 23 and from Tennyson Road has been charged with murder.

He's been remanded in custody to appear before Chelmsford Crown Court tomorrow (Friday 3rd February).

Police say they are continuing to appeal for information about what happened and urge anyone who can help to come forward.
