Police believe it was a targeted incident

Police are investigating an incident where a car was driven at a man in Harwich.

It reportedly happened outside Asda supermarket in Main Road at around 7.30pm on Monday (10 May).

The black Vauxhall Corsa then collided with the barriers outside the supermarket, leaving it with damage.

Police say the victim, an 18-year-old man, was not injured.

Officers arrested a 20-year-old man from Barking on suspicion of GBH with intent who currently remains in custody.

Detective Sergeant Dan Jeffries said:

"I know this will be a concerning incident for people living in the area but we believe this was a targeted incident and there is no risk to the wider public.

"I need anyone who saw anything or has any dash cam, CCTV, or door bell footage to contact us."
