Calf rescued in Hunsdon

It had become stuck in a river

A calf has been rescued from the River Stort at Hunsdon.

Firefighters were called yesterday lunchtime, and found the animal knee-deep in the water.

It was safely lifted out where it was returned to the farmer, who led it back to its herd in a field.
