Brentwood man jailed for trying to force women out of cars
He was carrying a large knife at the time
A man who tried to force two women out of their cars in Brentwood has been jailed for two years and nine months.
39 year old Daniel Clark, of no fixed address, approached two women in Ingrave Road in the space of 10 minutes on June 26 last year.
During the first incident the victim had stopped at a set of traffic lights when Clark opened her door, grabbed her and verbally abuse her, before trying to pull her out of her vehicle.
Clark was seen to be holding a knife during the attack.
A second woman was targeted a short time later on the same road. He banged on the window of her car, smashing it, and then tried to open the door.
The victim was left with an injury to her arm and glass in her eye,
Clark then ran off but was then grabbed by a member of the public, who managed to flag down police.
When he was arrested Clark was found to have a large flick knife.
He admitted to affray, ABH, and possession of a bladed article at Basildon Crown Court on March 23.
Investigating officer, PC James White, of Essex Police, said:
“Daniel Clark subjected his two victims to terrifying ordeals as they were just trying to go about their daily business.
“He threatened them with violence and left one of the women injured.
“I want to thank the members of the public whose prompt actions helped lead to him being detained."
