Brentwood man charged with murder

A man has been charged with murder as part of an ongoing investigation into a serious assault in Brentwood.

Essex Police were first called to an address, in Ingrave Road, Brentwood shortly after 3:30pm on Thursday 12 September following reports of an assault.

Emergency services including the air ambulance service attended and a cordon was put in place.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene. His family are aware and continue to receive updates.

Officers are maintaining a scene and presence in the area while enquiries continue.

Following around-the-clock work across a number of teams, a murder charge has now been secured.

John Moore, 38, of Ingrave Road, Brentwood, is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court this morning (Saturday 14 September).
