Brendan Wiredu departs Colchester United for Fleetwood

Colchester United midfielder Brendan Wiredu has joined League One side Fleetwood for an undisclosed fee.
The 22 year old initially joined the Us from Charlton Athletic on loan ahead of the 2019/20 season.
He made 75 appearances across all competitions during his time at the Community Stadium, scoring three times
Speaking to the cu-fc website, Director of Football Tony Humes said: “Brendan was always one to wear his heart on his sleeve and gave everything he could for the club.
“The move to Fleetwood presents a good opportunity for Brendan to test himself at a higher level and we would like to thank him for his efforts in a Colchester United shirt, and wish him well for his future footballing career."
