Teenager assaulted and robbed near underpass in Basildon

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward

A teenager's reportedly been assaulted and robbed while walking near an underpass in Basildon.

The 13 year-old boys was walking in Luncies Road on the 27th December at around 4.45pm when he was approached by a group of six people.

They're all described as teenage boys, and four of them were wearing face masks and dark clothing.

The victim was assaulted and had his mobile phone stolen, before the group ran off through the underpass.

Police say four members of the group have been described as follows:

One is described as white, 13 or 14 years-old, around 5ft 5ins tall, of large build, with green eyes and wearing a black tracksuit, black beanie-style hat, black face covering, blue puffy jacket, and black gloves.

The second is describe as white, aged between 13 and 15 years-old, and also around 5ft 5ins tall, and of large build.

He’s described as wearing a black tracksuit, black gloves, and a black face covering which was possibly a t-shirt. He also had a small bag over his shoulder, described being light and dark brown in colour in a chessboard pattern.

The other two are both described as white and aged between 13 and 15. One is described as being of large build and the other as slim. They were both also wearing black tracksuits, black gloves, and black face coverings.

Anyone who saw anything or may have dash cam, doorbell, or CCTV footage from the area is asked to come forward.
