Firefighters say a barn fire in Orsett was accidental

A man's been taken to hospital with burns and a barns been completely destroyed in a fire in Orsett.

Firefighters were there overnight trying to put out the fire - which is now extinguished.

Crews from Orsett, Grays, Brentwood, Basildon and Corringham were all on the scene on Brentwood Road last night.

The initial call came at about 8.24pm with a barn around 20m by 10m completely alight by the time they got there.

A 27 year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.

The road was partially blocked while emergency services were on the scene but has now fully reopened.

The Fire Service is has confirmed the cause was accidental.

Crews left the scene around 1.28am this morning after checking the area was completely cold.
