Firefighters have been tackling a fire at a barn in Great Holland.

It happened in Little Clacton Road at around 11.45am today (27 July).

Fire crews reported the farm building was completely on fire when they arrived at the scene.

Essex County Fire & Rescue Service have confirmed the building contained a number of cylinders, and around 1,000 litres of waste oil which had leaked onto the ground.

All waste water from the fire has been contained so it did not pose an environmental risk.

The blaze was put out by 1.30pm, but crews remained on scene to make sure all hotspots were completely extinguished.

An investigation will take place to find the cause of the fire.
