Arrest made after lorry overturned on High Road

A 55-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion driving under the influence of drugs.

Essex Police Officers investigating after a lorry which struck a bridge and overturned have made an arrest.

Police worked extensively at the scene alongside Highways colleagues to clear the carriageway, after the collision in High Road, Pitsea, shortly after 8.15am this morning (Thursday 6 June).

A 55-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion driving under the influence of drugs.

He was taken onto hospital for further treatment and will be interviewed upon his discharge.

No serious injuries were suffered and the road has been reopened.
