Armed officers were deployed in Clacton after reports of someone carrying a gun, Essex police have revealed.
Officers were called to Page road just after 2pm on Sunday - after reports of drug-related activity.
Firearms staff arrested a 31 year-old from London who remains in custody.
“We understand that there may have been people in the area who filmed the events"
Chief Inspector Ella Latham said“We appreciate that this response would have caused a lot of local concern.
“Our officers acted quickly, and we are carrying out multiple enquiries today as part of this investigation.
“We understand that there may have been people in the area who filmed the events leading up to police arriving.
"These people could really assist us with the investigation and I’m asking anyone who may have any pictures or videos which could help, to contact us.”
