Police are appealing for witnesses after an armed man broke into a house in Southend, before robbing a person inside.

Officers were called to Swanage Road at around 6:20am on Wednesday (August 9).

The suspect, who was wearing a grey tracksuit, took a phone before leaving the scene.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is being urged to contact Essex Police on 101.
