A12 near Witham closed after lorry involved in serious crash
Police say the section is expected to remain closed until this afternoon
A section of the A12 is closed this morning following a serious crash involving a lorry.
Essex Police say the vehicle collided with a central reservation and a bridge - the driver's been arrested.
National Highways are leading in response to the incident, and officers say the A12 remains closed southbound southbound between junctions 22 for Rivenhall and 21 for Witham.
Diversions are in place, and the road is expected to remain closed until this afternoon.
Divers are being asked to avoid the area and to plan ahead for their journeys.
