A12 closed southbound after lorry hits bridge

The A12 southbound carriageway will be reopened shortly, after a lorry hit a bridge this morning (3 June).

Essex Police officers were at the scene.

It happened between junctions 14 and 13, at Ingatestone, just after 9am.

The southbound carriageway was closed between junctions 15 and 13 while officers investigated.

Drivers in the area were urged to avoid the route if possible.

Essex Police has confirmed this afternoon (around 2pm) that the southbound carriageway between junctions 15 and 13 will be reopened shortly.
