Colchester Zoo marks 58 years since first opening and welcoming visitors
The zoo has said they "hope to continue for many years to come"
Colchester Zoo is today (2 June) marking 58 years since it opened its gates and welcomed visitors for the first time.
In a post on Twitter, the team said that since then the zoo has become a place "many of us know and love".
It continued:
"The last year has been a huge challenge for us, but with your support we hope to continue for many years to come!"
