39 year old arrested on suspicion of Basildon assault
A woman was headbutted and man's been left in hospital after an attack yesterday night
Police have arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of assault and GBH and he has been released on bail until 25 October.
It follows an incident in Basildon in which a man was seriously injured just before 1am on Sunday 13 August at Southernhay.
It was reported that two people, both 20s, sustained injuries when a man headbutted a woman and punched a man to the head, causing the man to fall backwards.
The victim remains in hospital in a serious condition.
An investigation has been launched, and police are carrying out enquiries to establish the sequence of events that led up to this incident.
A spokesperson said: "We’d like to speak to anyone who may have information or footage who has not already spoken to us, to contact us.
"We’d also ask that any drivers in the area at the time, to check their dash cam footage to see if they have anything that could assist our investigation.
