21-year-old arrested after fatal collision in Southend
A man died in the single-car crash
Officers were called to the scene of the single-car crash in Maplin Way North at about 6.45pm on Saturday.
Police say when they arrived at the scene they found one man had sustained serious injuries. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the 22-year-old man from Shoebury died at the scene.
The driver, a 21yr old male, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving without a licence and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
A police investigation is ongoing.
