19-year-old man charged with Chelmsford murder named

A man charged with the murder of Keiran Shepherd has been named by Essex Police as 19-year-old Harrison Carpenter from Chelmsford.
30-year-old Keiran Shepherd died on Tuesday 15th October after he was assaulted on Meadgate Avenue in Chelmsford at around 12:30pm.
In a statement released by his family, he has been described as “a kind and loving son, brother, and father, his loss has left a massive hole in the lives of his family and friends."
Carpenter was arrested on Wednesday, the day after the attack, while two more men aged 19 and 20 were later arrested on Friday. They remain in police custody.
Detective Inspector Lydia George said: “These arrests are the result of hundreds of officer hours since Tuesday.
“I’d like to thank every member of the public who has contacted us with information about this incident too. All this plays a part in securing justice for Kieran.
“Our enquiries will continue while these three men are held in custody.”
Harrison Carpenter will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on Monday 21st October.
