Detectives investigating an incident of violent disorder in Southend last summer have made a 10th arrest.

Officers initially responded to reports of people with weapons on the seafront on 30 July.

On 20 August 2024 police identified, arrested and charged a ninth male in relation to the disorder and all are due to stand trial this July.

Today (Friday 28 March), officers arrested an 18 year-old man from Stratford as he returned to the country at Heathrow Airport.

He is the tenth person arrested as part of this disorder.

He is currently in custody where he is being questioned on suspicion of violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon.
