You'll hear many of these songs on Greatest Hits Radio
Last updated 17th Sep 2024
Viewers sat down to watch the second series of Davina McCall's dating show My Mum, Your Dad, last night (17th September), and not only did the show leave viewers in tears, at the emotional stories that played out, but they also took to social media to share their excitement at hearing so many great songs. Many of which you can hear on the Greatest Hits Radio playlist.
Without revealing too many spoilers, the show starts by introducing middle-aged single parents with their adult children. As the singletons are introduced, they're seen driving along country lanes, to a large house (The Retreat), and each pair is accompanied by an uplifting power ballad, or classic love song.
In the first episode fans had the chance to hear nostalgic hits such as Aztec Camera's 'Somewhere In My Heart', White Snake's 'Here I Go Again', and Paul Young's 'Every Time You Go Away', as we met several parents, and their adult children.
That was followed by the likes of Erasure's 'Sometimes', Danny Wilson's 'Mary’s Prayer' and Cyndi Lauper's version of 'I Drove All Night'. If that wasn't enough, viewers also got to hear more classics like Johnny Hates Jazz's 'Shattered Dreams', John Farnham's 'You’re The Voice', Irene Cara's 'Flashdance What a Feeling' and Fiction Factory's 'Feels Like Heaven'.
After the first episode aired fans were quick to take to social media, with one writing: 'Ah loving it so far and loving the music as always ❤️', and another saying: 'I’m gripped too such a fabulous programme so positive'.
Assistant Principal, 50-year-old Vicky was the first to arrive at The Retreat with her 28-year-old daughter Angharad, who left to make her way towards The Bunker. It wasn't long before Vicky was joined in The Retreat's garden by 49-year-old Danny, who had arrived with his 21-year-old son Ellis.
My Mum, Your Dad continues weeknights at 9pm on ITV and STV.
