Liam Cavanagh enlists the help of his friend David Metcalfe to pull off a big romantic proposal for Leyla Harding in Emmerdale!

But an insecure Meena Jutla gets the wrong end of the stick when she sees David helping out and could throw a spanner in the works for the whole thing.

Cain Dingle and Moira Barton set a plan in motion to catch out Mackenzie Boyd and put and end to his dodgy dealings around the village.

Has Meena stuck her foot in it?

But will it backfire?

Elsewhere, with the encouragement of her friends Mandy and Sam Dingle, Lydia Hart applies for a new job.

Moira is determined to put a stop to Mack's dodgy dealings and his relationship with Charity and with Cain's help, plants a tracking device in his lorry. When Mack meets up with his dealer at a lay-by, he's furious to uncover the device among the cargo and flees the scene - but have Moira and Cain done enough?

Elsewhere, Liam needs David's help with executing his surprise proposal to Leyla and asks sends him on a secret mission to keep her out of the way while he sets up.

With David under strict instructions to keep Leyla distracted until Liam is ready to propose, Meena is upset to see them together, jumping to conclusions and thinking Leyla is after David.

Meena is so upset that David is forced to explain why he's been with Leyla all day - thereby ruining Liam's surprise. Liam is gutted his proposal is ruined and Leyla, touched by the effort he's gone to, suggests maybe he start again.

Leyla is overjoyed by Liam's thoughtful proposal and heartfelt speech. As the couple celebrate their engagement, David wonders if he and Meena aren't on such solid ground.

With Vinny singing Lydia's praises after a counselling session, Mandy and Sam encourage her to go for a pupil liaison job at a local school. While Lydia's confidence falters, her friends are determined to build her up.

Lydia attends the video interview and afterwards is thrilled by how well it went. As she relaxes at the café afterward, the police arrive and inform her she's under arrest on suspicion of running a scam pension scheme! Mandy has her thoughts as to who might be responsible...

After realising her brooch is missing Brenda begins to suspect she and Pollard have been robbed.

Jimmy breaks the news to Nicola that he thinks their marriage might have run its course.

Seeing red, Brenda accuses Faith of stealing her brooch but Faith is adamant she's innocent. As Pollard apologises for Brenda, Bear is furious to see them flirting again and storms off.

Manpreet wants to be there for Ethan as he opens up to her about his mum. But when Charles arrives and wants to know what's been going on with his son, will she betray Ethan's trust?
