Elton John reflects on last concert in iconic venue saying it was 'quite a moment'
He's played there more than 70 times
Elton John is well into his 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road' tour and recently performed at the iconic New York venue, Madison Square Garden. Taking to the stage two nights in a row, Elton's previously postponed gigs saw him perform some of his biggest hits including 'Tiny Dancer', 'Rocket Man' and 'Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me'.
Now that Elton has performed his last gigs at the venue he's had time to reflect on it, and taken to Instagram to share his thoughts with his fans.
Posting three photos of his performance at Madison Square Garden, including one from behind him on stage looking out at his audience, Elton wrote: 'Quite a moment for me last night playing Madison Square Garden for the last time on tour, my favourite venue in the world and somewhere I’ve played over 70 times.'
He continued: 'Thank you for a magical couple of nights and 52 years of memories x'.
Elton originally started his tour back in 2018 in the US and continued until March 2020, when his dates were postponed due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. He restarted touring in January 2022 and will continue with the rest of his tour taking him to more dates across the US, Europe, including the UK and Oceania.
