The pub featured in David Bowie's 'Let's Dance' music video is up for sale

Way back in 1983, David Bowie released his fantastic song 'Let's Dance' and the music video featured a pub in Australia called Carinda Hotel. Now, 37 years later, the hotel, which is owned by father and son team Dean and Malcolm George, is up for sale.

The hotel has been listed on Gumtree at AUD $220,000, and according to the listing it is, 'Located in the beautiful outback just 260 kms northwest of Dubbo,140kms south of lightning ridge and 66kms south of Walgett in the tourism and farming town of Carinda NSW.' (sic)

The listing continues, 'The hotel made famous in 1983 when David Bowie filmed his 80’s classic “let’s dance” which has also welcomed a Let’s dance festival to the town of Carinda annually. The position in the film clip that David Bowie stood is unchanged to this day and has even been brought back to life by owner Malcolm to the way it was that day! Floor and all!'

It goes on to describe the small town saying, 'Carinda is a hard working town that get right behind supporting local and you will meet characters that you will only find in the outback and friends that you will hold for life!

'It is a small town that has a large heart and consists of a service station, giftwares store, public primary school, police station, churches, town hall and a large public swimming pool.'

'Let's Dance' was a massive hit for David Bowie, reaching Number 1 around the world. The song was written by David Bowie and produced by Chic's Nile Rodgers, after they met in New York. The song became the lead single from Bowie's album of the same name.
