'Careless Whisper' video shoot photo shared ahead of the song's 40th anniversary

Way back in 1984, George Michael released his iconic hit 'Careless Whisper'. The song celebrates its 40th anniversary next month, with the release of a new EP featuring a live version of the song, which has never been released before.

In the run up to the release, the official Wham! social media accounts have shared a photo of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley from the video shoot of the memorable song. In the photo the pair can be seen leaning on a white convertible car, in front of a hotel sign for Holiday Inn of America, in Miami.

Since sharing the photo of the duo, fans have been leaving comments, reminiscing about their experiences of the city, and the 80s. One fan wrote: '🔥 Wham! 🔥 Good memories 😍', another fan commented: 'What a great music video and beautiful song!', and a third wrote: 'And the song still sounds so timeless! Absolute classic from a genius songwriter and musician. ❤️ Great times and happy memories!'

This photo comes just a few weeks ahead of the release of the 'Careless Whisper' EP, which will be release on 18th October 2024.

'Careless Whisper' was written by George Michael when he was 17-years-old, speaking about the new EP, George Michael Entertainment said: 'As we celebrate 40 years of 'Careless Whisper’, we are proud to share something truly special with George’s millions of fans around the world. This EP is a heartfelt 'thank you' from us to you for your unwavering support and love. We are truly grateful. Thank you.'

Kim Wilde - 'Closer'

Pop icon, Kim Wilde, is set to release her highly anticipated 15th studio album, in January 2025. The 80s singer famed for 'Kids In America' announced the news alongside the release of her new single 'Trail of Destruction'.
'Closer' is Kim's first studio album since 2018's 'Here Come The Aliens' and is guaranteed to bring more hits, alongside that unmistakable voice. Intended as a companion piece to her fan-favourite 1988 album 'Close', this new offering is said to be made up of a combination of pop, rock and dance.
