Elton John reveals who he thinks is the 'next British superstar'
He spent the day with Lewis Capaldi
Elton John took the opportunity to meet up with the 'next British superstar', Lewis Capaldi. Lewis is one of the most sought after names in music at the moment, having recently topped the charts with songs such as ‘Hold Me While You Wait’.
Lewis met up with the 'Rocket Man' singer, recently and Elton took to Instagram to share the moment with his fans saying, 'Spending the day with the next British superstar @lewiscapaldi'.
Lewis also shared the same photo to his followers, and it wasn’t long before fans were posting comments. TV presenter Caroline Flack posted ,’👏🏻❤️👏🏻❤️👏🏻❤️’ with Lewis replying to her, ‘quite the afternoon’.
Some fans commented on how similar the singers looked, with one joking they were ‘Dad and son’, and another saying, ‘Lewis you look a bit like his love child xx’, to which he replied, ‘haha he’s a handsome man’.
Elton and Lewis' day together comes just a week after Elton opened up about the iconic songs he wrote for the Lion King. 25 years after the animated film's release, as the new Disney live-action remake is in cinemas, Elton John has opened up about his involvement saying how it changed his life.
Taking to Twitter, Elton told his fans he has, 'Been part of #TheLionKing legacy since the film first hit cinemas,' sending fans to his website where they can read more about how the soundtrack came about.
Elton John's songs are iconic and he is currently on his 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road' tour. Elton will be bringing it to the UK next year, with dates at locations across the country, including London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Leeds.
