Hugh Bonneville has shared that he is volunteering as a Covid-19 vaccinator for a local pharmacy.

The acting legend and Downton Abbey star told our friends at Hits Radio that he had been volunteering throughout the pandemic but is now helping to vaccinate his local community.

He said, “I’ve been volunteering locally since the pandemic began and during the course of that I have been in touch with one of our neighbouring volunteer groups. They said we’re starting a vaccination hub so I joined a team of about 80 volunteers.”

57-year-old Hugh was offered a vaccine as standard for volunteers who administer the vaccine themselves.

He added, “I didn’t even know we would be offered a vaccine but it was offered to everybody as it is across the country for those who are volunteering.”

Over 16 million vulnerable people have now had their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and Hugh showed his support for the effort.

He said, “I have had my first jab, I am very pleased to have had it and I hope others who are offered the jab will take it because that is a route out of this mess that we’re in.”

Hugh has been busy filming new Sky Original film To Olivia which portrays the life of Roald Dahl and wife Patricia Neal after the tragic loss of their seven-year-old daughter.

Hugh also stars in the Paddington film series and it was announced this week that Paddington 3 is on the way.

Despite this, like many Hugh has found time to binge-watch some tv series!

He said, “I’ve taken up watching all eight seasons of Below Deck that has been my major skill and spin-offs Below Deck Mediterranean and Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

“I’m going to go on Mastermind and do the life and times of Below Deck which for those who don’t know is a wonderfully trashy, brilliantly structured reality show about life on luxury yachts and the crews that work on them.”

He also added that he was keen on watching Netflix hit Bridgerton.

Hugh said, “I’m dying to watch Bridgerton! I’m just finishing my other various binges. I’ve been watching Call My Agent recently which I adored and finally caught up with Succession. All the ones that are so last year, but I’m getting there.”
