Strictly Come Dancing pro Amy Dowden has shared a update while on her way to her third round of chemo, after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

After revealing her life-threatening sepsis diagnosis recently, the dancer shared an Instagram Story, where she can be seen telling her fans about her 'perfect' day with her Strictly family. She says: "I went (to) Strictly! What a perfect day before chemo tomorrow."

She went on to say: "Today we're at Strictly, I get to see all the pros, everybody, the whole team, production, hair and make up, wardrobe... the lot! And yeah, there's a big smile, as you can see on my face, before tomorrow."

Amy later took to Instagram to share a photo after she had been 'Strictlyfied', writing: 'So grateful for my @bbcstrictly family💖, yesterday was just what I needed ahead of today. I’ve felt part of the whole journey so far! I’ve seen all the group numbers and the process by videos, then again watching yesterday and WOW honestly the best yet!

'Yes it’s hard not being up there with them doing what I love but so proud to part of such a talented team. I loved being made glamorous by the hair and make up team, putting on a sparkly dress from Wardrope and feeling like Amy again being at my favourite place 💖! So very grateful! Now I’m on way to chemo number 3! Let’s hope no hospital admissions and scares after this one. But I’m going with a spring in my step this morning after yesterday and knowing everyday I’m closer to dancing on that floor again 💖🙏🎀'. (sic)

Amy was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, revealing the diagnosis back in May, she told her fans on Instagram: 'Hey all, I've got some news which isn't easy to share. I've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer but I'm determined to get back on that dance floor before you know it. 💖'.

The 33-year-old later shared a defiant message saying that she will return to Strictly despite receiving treatment for breast cancer. However, following a second cancer diagnosis, the dancer revealed, although she will not be taking part in the series as a dancer, she will be involved in some way.

Speaking at the time she said: "We are just one big (Strictly) family and they’re going to be guided by me and there are so many ways to be involved in the show and I’m just staying really positive and hopeful that I’m still going to be part of the show in some way."

We wish Amy well with her treatment as she undergoes more chemo.

Back in the Strictly world, both the professionals and celebrities have been announced, along with the start date which is less than a month away.
