Man left seriously injured after attacked with weapon near Asda Livingston

Police are looking for the suspect

A man has been left seriously injured after he was assaulted by another man with a weapon in Livingston.

The 48-year-old was attacked while with two friends between the Asda Livingston car park and the Dominos on Howden South Road around 11.45pm on Tuesday.

The victim made his way home and was later taken to St John’s Hospital for treatment to serious facial injuries.

The suspect, who left the area in a vehicle after the incident, is described as white, of slim build, around 5ft7, with light brown hair.

Police appeal for information

Detective Constable Sam Plastow from Livingston CID said: “It appears that some form of altercation has taken place between the three men and the suspect which has resulted in the victim sustaining serious injuries.

“Enquiries are at an early stage and we are appealing for anyone who witnessed what happened, or has any CCTV or dashcam footage which could assist our investigation, to please get in touch.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 3442 of 2 January, 2024, or by contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
