Man, 61, killed in A90 Queensferry Road hit-and-run in Edinburgh
A 61-year-old man has died following a hit-and-run crash on the A90 Queensferry Road in Edinburgh.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 11.15pm on Tuesday night, after a collision involving a Kawasaki KLE650 motorcycle and an unknown car. Tragically, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The car involved fled in the direction of Edinburgh city centre before officers arrived.
The road was closed for several hours to allow for investigations and reopened just after 6.30am on Wednesday.
Road Policing officers are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dash-cam footage to come forward.
Sergeant Paul Ewing said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died. We’re reviewing CCTV and continuing enquiries to trace the car and its driver.”
