Edinburgh police remain on the scene of a crash on the M8 between a car and lorry on Monday morning.
The westbound carriageway near Hermiston Gait is still shut
The extent of any injuries is not known at this stage.
Posting on X, formally known as Twitter, Traffic Scotland has said "the M8 Westbound remains closed at J1 due to a serious collision".
People heading to Edinburgh Airport "are advised to leave with plenty extra time.
"A720 traffic also slow W/B with a 20 min travel time. Eastbound delays have eased."
