Former Dalkeith police officer jailed
Gavin Donaldson pled guilty to a charge of attempting to pervert the course of Justice

An ex-Dalkeith police officer has been jailed for 14 months for telling a woman he was having a relationship with to delete all evidence of it.
Gavin Donaldson met the vulnerable teenager when she reported domestic abuse to him.
After starting a sexual relationship with her, he later told the woman to wipe their WhatsApp chat history.

The 45-year old pled guilty to a charge of attempting to pervert the course of Justice.
Sheriff Douglas Keir said he’d damaged trust in the police.
Police Scotland has been approached for comment.
