A woman has died after being struck by a van at an East Lothian holiday park.

Police Scotland said on Monday the 86-year-old woman died in hospital following the incident at Seaton Sands Caravan Park in Port Seton, East Lothian, on Sunday.

She was on foot in the car park at about 10.40am when she was struck by a van.

The emergency services attended and she was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

The 45-year-old man driving the white Vauxhall Combo van was not injured.

Sergeant Dominic Doyle said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has died.

"Inquiries are ongoing and I would like to speak to any residents or holidaymakers who were in the area around this time and may have seen what happened.

"I am also appealing for anyone with relevant dashcam or any other footage to get in touch on 101, quoting incident 1226 of Sunday September 22."
