Edinburgh's St James Quarter was in lockdown after police evacuated the building on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers were responding to a report of concern for a man around 2.10pm.
He has since been taken to hospital with no physical injuries.
The building was evacuated with thousands of Christmas shoppers instructed to leave.
