A Yorkshire plumber has written and released a track especially to celebrate the first ever Tour de Yorkshire.

The international cycle race beings tomorrow (1st May) in Bridlington, and well known cyclists like Sir Bradley Wiggins will be taking part, along with Team Wiggins, Team Sky, and Team Giant Alpecin.

The song, “Get on Yer Bike” is a rejigged version of the song Paull Ballington write for last year’s Grand Depart – and has been released as a single, with some of the money going to charity.

And Paul says he hopes the bikers get the same support as in the Tour de France:

“I went last year to the finish line at Sheffield arena, I actually stood dressed as a Frenchman playing my song last year, and the crowds were amazing, it was buzzing there, everyone was just buzzing it was great – and I think it’ll be similar this year.”

“The Tour de France is obviously one of the biggest sporting events in the calendar I guess. This is the first ever Tour de Yorkshire, so it’s something new and something different, but at the same time, Yorkshire is beautiful place, and some of the routes the guys will be riding – it’s beautiful.”

Well you can hear Paul’s song in full below.
