Update after people injured in car meet collision in Scunthorpe
Humberside Police say a person is in a critical condition in hospital after a collision at a car meet in Scunthorpe.
Officers say two people are under investigation after the incident.
Inpector John Rickells, Roads Policing at Humberside Police, said;
“Four of the eleven pedestrians injured in the collision are in hospitals across the region with significant injuries, one of whom remains in a critical condition. Our thoughts remain with them, their families and friends. The 17 year old man arrested at the scene has been interviewed and released from custody. He remains under investigation for causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The driver of a second vehicle involved in the incident has now been arrested and is under investigation for causing serious injury by careless driving”.
“I would like to pass my thanks on to the many members of the public who were present at the scene last night and those who have identified themselves as witnesses today. Please bear with us whilst we work through the vast amount of witness and CCTV enquiries.”
