Police are appealing for information after two people died following a crash in North Lincolnshire.
Humberside Police say an 86-year-old man and a 72-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene on the A18, after the car they were travelling in was involved in a collision yesterday evening (Sunday, 8 June).
Officers received a report of a collision around 5.45pm. A silver Ford Fusion was travelling eastbound along the A18 towards Melton Ross when it is believed to have been in a collision also involving a blue Saab, between the junctions of Barnetby Top and Melton Ross.
The driver and the passenger of the Saab were taken to hospital to receive treatment to serious injuries.
The families of the two people who died have been informed and are currently being supported by specialist trained officers at this incredibly difficult time.
Humberside Police said:
"We would appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time and witnessed the collision, or anyone who has any dashcam or CCTV footage, to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 356 of 8th June".
