Two men arrested after pony found dead in East Yorkshire

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of theft - after a pony was found was dead in East Yorkshire.

33 year-old Peter the Shetland Pony was discovered in a dyke in Preston on Tuesday evening.

The men, aged 24 and 26, remain in police custody while enquiries continue.

Inspector Phil Hinch said: “We would like to thank everyone for their support within this investigation and for assisting with our enquiries.

“We understand the emotions and impact that this incident has had on the local community. We have conducted extensive enquiries to get to this stage and these will be continuing.
