Three arrested after armed robbery in Bridlington
Humberside Police tracked down a Ford Fiesta, which was found abandoned nearby
Three masked men who broke into a shop through its window have been arrested after reportedly stealing jewellery in Bridlington.
Humberside Police say it happened on Prospect Street on Friday afternoon (December 8), and they fled the scene in a red Ford Fiesta.
Officers say they continue to carry out inquiries with the local community - with all three still in custody.
Humberside Police on social media added: "The incident took place at around 2pm, when three men wearing masks and carrying weapons are believed to have gained entry to the front of the shop by causing damage to the windows. The men reportedly stole jewellery from inside before fleeing the scene in a red Fiesta.
"Following swift police action, the red Fiesta was discovered abandoned nearby and one man was located and arrested on suspicion of robbery.
"Two more men have since been arrested on suspicion of robbery, all three remain in our custody at this time whilst enquiries continue.
"Officers continue to carry out enquiries in the area today and the local community will see an increased presence throughout the day.
"We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or may have video footage from around the time the incident occurred, to contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 242 of 8 December.
