A woman has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering

A third person has been woman has been arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into Legacy Funeral Directors in Hull and East Yorkshire.
A 54 year old woman is being questioned in police custody after been arrested today (3rd July) on suspicion of money laundering as part of a pre-planned operation in connection with the investigation.
A 46 year old man who was on bail following his arrest in March has also been arrested today (3rd July) on suspicion of theft, making or supplying articles for use in frauds and offences under the Financial Services Act – he remains in police custody
And a 23 year old woman who was also arrested in March remains on police bail.
Humberside Police received a report on Wednesday, 6 March, expressing a concern about the storage and management processes relating to care of the deceased in the funeral homes. Since then, three people have been arrested in connection with the case.
Assistant Chief Constable Thom McLoughlin said:
“This remains an extremely complex and sensitive investigation and we continue to follow all lines of enquiry and seek answers for the families involved and those affected by this report.
“Three people have now been arrested as part of the investigation, two are in our custody and one remains on police bail whilst investigations continue.
