Suspected unexploded bomb found on Cleethorpes beach

A suspected unexploded bomb has been found on Cleethorpes beach.

Emergency services were called to Buck Beck Bench at 11am - and a cordon has been put in place.

People are being asked to avoid the area.

In a statement, Humberside Police said: "Officers are currently in attendance at Buck Beck Beach, Cleethorpes after being called at 11am today (Wednesday 16 June) to reports of what is believed to be an unexploded bomb.

"Colleagues from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team have been called to assess the situation and the surrounding area has been closed off as a precaution.

"We ask that people avoid the area until we are able to bring the incident to a safe conclusion."
