Steve Bruce Rules Out Newcastle Move
The Hull City manager has been linked to the club following the departure of Alan Pardew.
Hull City's Steve Bruce has ruled out taking charge of Newcastle United, assuming Alan Pardew completes his move to Crystal Palace.
Bruce was a Newcastle fan as a youngster but says he's committed to his current club and has turned down three offers to leave during his time here.
Bruce said:
"People know I was a Newcastle supporter as a boy and it (a possible return) has been regurgitated since I was 22 years old. I am linked every time for that reason. It is very flattering, I am a geordie, but I have a job to do here, I have had two and a half years here and am committed to seeing it through. I am fully focused on one thing - and that is to stay here and try to get us out of trouble.
I am determined to see it through. I have a job to do here. It would be wrong of me to think of anything else but to get this club out of the position we're in. It would be wrong for the speculation to carry on, for the supporters and the players. I think the owner knows me by now. I've had three offers since I've been here and turned them all down. Why would I want to leave now? It's not right so I hope people respect that."
