Steve Bruce: "We Behaved Like Children"
The Hull City manager had a touchline bust up with Sunderland boss Gus Poyet last night.
Hull City's Steve Bruce admitted he and Sunderland manager Gus Poyet behaved like children as they had a touchline bust up during their sides' 1-1 Premier League draw last night.
Poyet flew into a rage on the touchline, booted a cooler box and then had to be physically separated from Steve Bruce.
They had to be separated by the officials and Bruce says it was all a bit embarrassing.
But the two managers refused be drawn on the incident post match. Steve Bruce told Viking FM:
"Why he has come over to myself I don't really know what I was supposed to have done but these things do happen in the heat of the moment, it was grown men acting like a couple of children but there you have it these things do happen in big games.
"I think it's only right that I keep it to myself and I will always keep it to myself. It's up to Gus if he wants to reveal why I reacted like some raging idiot then it's up to him. We are grown men who have acted like a couple of children and these things happen and then you look back in the morning and think oh good god."
Meanwhile Poyet said:
"I'm sorry but I'm old fashioned and what happens on the pitch, stays on the pitch. I never come out and cry like a baby so I keep it to myself. Nothing happened, it was football, passion. Read my lips, have a look tonight, read my lips and then we will see who said what."
