Looking for some unique places you could stay on holiday that won't blow your budget? We've found some fantastic places on the accommodation website Airbnb.

They have everything from various methods of transport to rooms based around an infamous painting. So, whether you're looking for a staycation in the UK or to go further afield here are a few of our favourites.

Transport buffs

For the transport buffs, there's a plane available to rent in France situated a short walk from the sea, a truck in New Zealand or a train in Cornwall surrounded by wildlife and a river (below).

If staying on a train isn't quite your thing you could stay in a station! Tucked away in the clock tower of St Pancras station this little appartment has everything you'll need (below).

Compact accommodation

The owner of this amazing room has put a huge amount of effort into recreating Van Gogh's 'Bedroom in Arles'. Incredibly the owner is only asking for ÂŁ7 a night to help pay for paint!

Situated in the centre of Chicago this accommodation is also perfectly placed to see the windy city (below).

Also, on the small, but fun side are futuristic pods in California and an historical capsule tower in Japan. This is the world's first example of capsule architecture, however unfortunately these aren't available to stay in - just to visit (below).

Quirky

There are plenty of quirky places available including this cute Cornish cabin called Jack Sparrow's House located in Cornwall (below).

Across the North Sea these cubehouses put everything on their end in the port city of Rotterdam.

Retreat

Fancy retreating from civilisation?

Try this private island just off the coast of Belize, it is perfect for a small group of friends looking for something tranquil. The price includes transport to and from the island and you have opportunities to snorkel in the beautiful sea around the property.

Travelling in the opposite direction this bamboo house is situated in the Ayung valley in Bali. Constructed from bamboo this house really allows you to be at one with nature.
