Hull City have got their third win on the trot in the Premier League - helping them to move further away from the dreaded drop zone. The Tigets beat QPR 2-1 at the KC stadium yesterday, goals from Nikica Jelavic and Dame N'Doye. Elsehwere in League One it was defeat for Scunthorpe. United were 2-nil losers at Preston. In League Two York City were on the wrong end of a 3-nil rout at Northampton. But better news in the Conference, Grimsby beat Barnet 3-1, goals for the Mariners from Christian Jolley, Craig Disley and Jon-Paul Pittman, the last two in stoppage time to nick the points for the visitors. In Conference North, Gainsborough Trinity beat Solihull Moors 3-1, Cliff Byrne, Liam Davis and Simon Russell the scorers. North Ferriby United's Wembley dream is still alive, the Villageers got a 2-all draw away at Bath in the first leg of their FA Trophy semi final.
