Sir Bradley Wiggins has abandoned the Tour de Yorkshire not far from the end of the opening stage.

He was around 15-miles away from the finish in Settle when he withdrew, amid a crash early on day one.

Welcome To Yorkshire have confirmed to us that he won't be involved in the rest of the three-day race.

The three day men's race began in Beverley today while the two day women's race begins tomorrow.

Stage Two goes between Otley and Doncaster with Sunday's third and final leg going from Middlesborough and finishing in Scarborough.
