Sex Offenders Missing Across UK
Seven convicted sex offenders are currently missing in Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.
Hundreds of convicted sex offenders are currently missing across the UK - it's been revealed.
Police aren't aware of the whereabouts of almost 400 registered sex offenders.
In Yorkshire and Northen Lincolnshire - seven sex offenders are currently classed as missing, with one not being traced in over ten years.
Humberside Police say the reason they're unable to locate the offenders is because they're no longer thought to be in the country - but say they're continuing to investigate. A Humberside Police spokesperson said:
"In the Humberside Police area we currently have seven registered sex offenders whose whereabouts are unknown, this is less than half of one per cent of the total number of registered sex offenders in the force area.
"Each of these individuals is managed by an officer who regularly conducts enquiries to try and locate them and all are recorded nationally as wanted people.
"It is believed the registered sex offenders whose whereabouts are currently unknown in this force area have left the country and in fact in five of the cases we know which country the individual is in."
