Murderer from Selby found dead in cell before sentencing

A murdered who confessed to killing his father and attacking his mother and sister in Selby in December 2019 has been found dead in a prison cell.

Luckasz Lukasik was due to receive a life sentence on Friday, but on Monday, a judge confirmed he'd received a death certificate from a coroner in Hull.

The 36-year-old had been remanded into custody in Hull Prison, where he'd been kept since his arrested in December last year.

Details on how he died haven't been confirmed, but there is going to be an investigation into his death.

North Yorkshire Police were called to Finkle Street on the 29th December, where they found Jerzy Lukasik fatally injured.

His wife was seriously injured nearby and their son was arrested on the same day.
