Search For Missing Winterton Man Continues
Barry Davies hasn't been seen since leaving his home last Saturday.
People living in Winterton are being asked to help in the search for missing local man Barry Davies.
The search for the 60-year-old, who is described as being vulnerable, has now entered its fourth day.
He disappeared from his home on Saturday and a team of up to 20 officers and volunteers will continue searching the Appleby area of the town today.
Police are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare as he has a number of health problems which require medical treatment.
He's described as a white man, large build, 5ft 6ins tall, with collar length, untidy hair that is ginger in colour, a beard and brown eyes. When last seen he was wearing black trousers, a green and cream checked shirt, a green fleece and black lace up shoes.
Chief Inspector Jenny Bristow is leading the search operation and told Viking:
"“Clearly it has now been a number of days since anyone last saw Mr Davies and we are growing increasingly concerned for him. He has been missing overnight and I am very worried given the cold, damp weather which we are experiencing.
“We have been searching the local area for Mr Davies over the past couple of days and have made numerous enquiries in Winterton and the surrounding villages and towns.
“I would like to appeal to the local community to check their outbuildings in case Mr Davies has taken refuge there. Also, I’d ask any dog walkers, ramblers or other people using the country lanes in the area to keep their eyes open for Mr Davies.”
