There's a stark warning from RNLI Cleethorpes this morning about the dangers of people getting cut off at sea after they attended three incidents in the past week.

With the warmer weather upon us - more people are expected to take a stroll along the beach.

Matt Mcnally is from RNLI Cleethorpes - he says the sandbanks can cause critical situations, he said:

"Some of the sandbanks especially those on the North and central beach form out of just been part of the beach into sandbanks and then disappear really quickly. It can be a very critical situation.

"It's the start of another season at Cleethorpes beach and we've already seen an uptake in the number of incidents the team are having to deal with. We've already had three incidents in the last week where the lifeboat's been called out to people either stranded by the tide or suspected to be."

People are advised to ring 999 and ask for the coastguard if they suspect someone in danger.
